[Also in Group IV (b)] Disinfecting compositions Contain water and/or a soapless dispersing agent, emulsifier or detergent, and one or more compounds of formula where X is an acid radical, Y is an aryl (which may contain halogen or hydroxy) or heterocyclic radical, one of R 1 and R 2 is an alkyl radical (which may contain hydroxy) containing not more than four carbon atoms, or an esterified or amidated carbonic acid or carboxylic acid group wherein the acid residue contains not more than four carbon atoms, and the other of R 1 and R 2 is an alkyl radical or an esterified or amidated carboxylic acid group and contains at least ten carbon atoms (see Group IV (b)).
