PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent for improving bowel movement using a high-amylose rice, a processed rice having an effect for improving bowel movement or a ground product thereof, and a processed product using the same.SOLUTION: The agent for improving bowel movement includes a processed rice composed of heat-moisture treated rice grains having an amylose content in starch of 20 wt.% or more, or a ground product thereof. The rice grains having an amylose content in starch of 20 wt.% or more are heat-moisture treated, and subjected to pulverization treatment on an as needed basis, so as to produce a processed rice having an effect for improving bowel movement, or a ground product thereof. The heat-moisture treatment is performed using steam under a pressure of 0.05 to 0.5 MPa for 1 to 60 minutes. The rice grains are composed of non glutinous brown rice.
