<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle drive device which: has a compressor driven by an internal combustion engine and an air motor driven by air compressed by the compressor; drives a vehicle with the air motor; and can improve energy efficiency in driving the vehicle by efficiently recovering exhaust heat of the internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A vehicle drive device has an exhaust heat recovery section 27 which is installed on an air passage to supply compressed air from an air tank 23R storing air compressed by a compressor 21 to air motors 4R and 4L and recovers heat energy of exhaust flowing in an exhaust passage 11 of an internal combustion engine. The exhaust passage 11 has a linear section 11a on a passage leading to an opening section open to the atmosphere. The exhaust heat recovery section 27 also has an exhaust heat recovery passage 27a which contacts the linear section 11a of the exhaust passage 11 by being arranged parallel thereto.</p> |
