PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens production method which suppresses variation of stress applied to a glass material to form a flat attachment surface in press molding, a lens and an optical module using the lens.SOLUTION: A method of producing a lens having a base part 21 and one or more lens parts 31 and 32 provided on the base part 21 includes a step of preparing a pair of dies 41 and 42 arranged oppositely and arranging a glass material 45 between the dies 41 and 42 and a step of bringing the lens part transfer part 41a and 41b and a swollen part transfer part 41c provided in one of the dies 41 and 42 into contact with the glass material 45 to form the base part 21 and also form lens parts 31 and 32 and a swollen part 36 in the base part 21 and bringing a flat side surface 42c provided in one of the dies 41 and 42 into contact with the glass material 45 to form an attachment surface 26.
