PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an osmotic power generation system and a work medium capable of operating at low cost.SOLUTION: An osmotic power generation system includes: a work medium exhibiting a phase transition between a first phase and a second phase at a critical temperature for separating a first temperature zone from a second temperature zone, the work medium being in a two-component mixture solution state in which a first liquid and a second liquid are mutually dissolved in the first temperature zone, the work medium being in a state in which the first liquid and the second liquid are separated in phase; an osmotic pressure generator 1 that includes a treatment container, an osmosis membrane partitioning an interior of the treatment container into a first chamber and a second chamber, a first inlet from which the first liquid flows into the first chamber, a second inlet from which the second liquid flows into the second chamber, and an outlet from which a mixture solution flows, and that is placed under temperatures in the first temperature zone; a turbine 2 generating electric power by a flow of the mixture solution; a tank 3 storing the mixture solution; a separation tower 4 separating the mixture solution; and a heating source 5 heating the liquid stored in the separation tower or the osmotic pressure generator 1 at a temperature equal to or higher than the critical temperature. |
