The present invention relates to a food waste treatment apparatus which compresses and cools food waste, comprising an upper layer and a lower layer. The upper layer includes: a lid into which food waste is injected; a compressor which compresses food waste; a stench discharge port which discharges stench generated during the compressing process; a space into which water generated during the compressing process is drained; and a water discharge pipe which discharges the water. The lower layer includes a freezer which freezes compressed food waste by lowering the temperature inside; a rubber container which is easy to put out; a sensor which notifies users when food waste is filled to a certain level; and a temperature regulation device which notifies users the temperature inside the food waste treatment apparatus and regulates the temperature. Accordingly, the food waste treatment apparatus compresses and freezes residential food waste and stores the same below the freezing point to inhibit the growth of insects and prevent the generation of stench. |
