PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device capable of improving light resistance, and a method for manufacturing such a liquid crystal device.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal device of one aspect comprises a first substrate and a second substrate facing each other, a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the first substrate and the second substrate, and an alignment layer provided on the liquid crystal layer side of the first substrate. The alignment layer comprises a polysiloxane-based vertical alignment film formed on a surface on the liquid crystal layer side of the first substrate, an oblique deposition film formed on a surface on the liquid crystal layer side of the polysiloxane-based vertical alignment film, and a silane coupling film formed at least on a surface on the liquid crystal layer side of the oblique deposition film. |
