<p>A vehicle body rear structure provided with: side wall panels (7) that are respectively provided to the right and left sides of a vehicle body; a parcel shelf (8) that extends along the vehicle width direction and connects the left and right side wall panels (7); and shelf gussets (1) that extend along the up-and-down direction, that have a vehicle outside end part that is joined to a vehicle inside side surface of the respective side wall panel (7), and that have an upper end that is joined to the parcel shelf (8). Each shelf gusset (1) is structured so as to be partitioned into a first gusset (11) and a second gusset (12) that is arranged behind the first gusset (11).
