PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode active material capable of achieving a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery excellent in the cycle characteristics, storage characteristics and continuous charging characteristics entirely, and to provide a positive electrode containing the positive electrode active material, and a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery including the positive electrode.SOLUTION: In a positive electrode active material containing a lithium transition metal oxide, and an oxo acid salt, the peak detected by TEM-EDX analysis of the positive electrode active material cross section, TOF-SIMS of a positive electrode active material in the depth direction, or XPS of positive electrode active material in the depth direction includes peak (A) derived from at least one element selected from a group consisting at least of phosphor, sulfur and boron, and peak (B) derived from at least one element selected from a group consisting transition metals, where at least one peak (A) and at least one peak (B) satisfy a predetermined relationship. |
