PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a node capable of determining whether or not an additional frame is requested after receiving or analyzing the request of other reception node, without requesting an additional frame due to loss of a frame on the reception node side, when a frame subjected to network coding by multicast is transmitted, and to provide a communication method thereof.SOLUTION: A communication method of node includes the steps of: receiving a message of another node for packet reception from the other node in a network performed by a node in the network; comparing the number of packets requested by the other node with the number of packets requested by the node; and transmitting the message of the node if the number of packets requested by the node is larger than the number of packets requested by the other node. The message of the other node includes information indicating the number of packets requested by the other node, and the message of the node includes information indicating the number of packets requested by the node.
