<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an application method of a light shielding material of an optical element capable of applying the light shielding material without the adhesion of the light shielding material on a reflection surface.SOLUTION: There is provide a method for applying a light shielding material on an optical element configured such that a plurality of optical element parts in each of which a reflection optical element part is provided between a light beam incident surface and a light beam emission surface are arranged in parallel, a plurality of the reflection optical element parts are formed to protrude with respect to an optical element base material, and the apex surface of each reflection optical element part is formed as a reflection surface and the side surface thereof is formed as a light transmission surface. The light shielding material is applied to light shielding material application regions facing groove parts between the adjacent reflection optical element parts, and the light shielding material is caused to flow into each groove part from each light shielding material application region by utilizing capillary action, and thereby a light shielding film is formed on the side face of each reflection optical element part.</p> |
