The present invention relates to an electronic device and a method for processing an event by linking the electronic device with a counter electronic device. The method includes the steps of: detecting occurrence of the event; checking status information of the electronic device; determining whether event information is to be linked with one or more second electronic devices based on the status information of the electronic device; and transmitting the event information to the second electronic devices when the event information is determined to be linked. Other embodiments may be possible.
