The present invention relates to a method for updating an encryption key between a card and a terminal. A program installed on the terminal executes the method by interfacing with the card. The method includes: a first step by the program for receiving encryption keys of R1 and R2 from the card; a second step by the program for storing the received encryption keys of R1 and R2 after giving an update order to the encryption keys; a third step by the program for receiving a new encryption key of R3, which is generated by the interfaced card and is encrypted through the encryption keys of R1 and R2, when interfaced with the card; a fourth step by the program for decoding the new encryption key of R3 which has been encoded through the stored encryption keys of R1 and R2; a fifth step by the program for transmitting a key update approval message for the decoded new encryption key of R3 to the interfaced card; and a sixth step by the program for removing the previously updated encryption key of R1 after reading the update order of the encryption keys of R1 and R2, giving an update order to encryption keys of R2 and R3, and then storing the encryption keys of R2 and R3. |
