Disclosed are a metal member having excellent brilliance and a method to manufacture the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the metal member having excellent brilliance includes a matrix steel sheet; and a plating layer formed on the matrix steel sheet, and having hair line patterns on the surface. Brilliance (G60_PD) in parallel with the hair line patterns is not less than 250, and the ratio (G60_PD/G60_RD) between the brilliance (G60_PD) in parallel with the hair line patterns and brilliance (G60_RD), vertical to the hair line patterns, is not higher than 2.5.
