<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently reduce deformation tendency by performing tendency reducing operation only when internal environmental change of a movable member generated before and after stop mode is a predetermined environmental change which causes the deformation tendency in the movable member.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: an intermediate transfer belt 20 as a movable member to be driven by driving means; a temperature sensor 51 as environmental change detection means which directly or indirectly detects an environmental change including at least temperature change near the belt 20; tendency reducing means which reduces deformation tendency of the belt 20 due to a force applied to the belt 20 during stop mode where the belt 20 is stopped; and a control section 210 as control means which controls operation of the tendency reducing means, on the basis of results (T1, T2) detected by the temperature sensor 51 before and after stop mode.</p> |
