When manufacturing a product (10) with a skin-like covering that is provided with a layered material (12) configured from a base material (11), a skin-like covering (13) and a cushion layer (14), and a stitch line (17) configured from multiple stiches arranged in a line along the surface of the skin-like covering (13), a stitch line-forming step and a gluing step are performed. In the stitch line-forming step, the stitch line (17) is formed on the surface of the skin-like covering (13) by sewing the cushion layer (14) and the skin-like covering (13) together using an upper thread (18) and a lower thread (19) so that some of the cushion layer (14) of the layered material (12) is pulled toward the skin-like covering (13). In the gluing step, substantially the entire back surface of the layered material (12), including the back surface of the portion that has been sewn together, is glued so as to adhere closely to the base material (11).
