The present invention of Pseudomonas putida 17S has an effect to inhibit rice sheath blight caused by Rhizoctonia solani pathogen. Therefore, a composition for inhibiting rice sheath blight, which contains Pseudomonas putida 17S, a cultural filtrate thereof, or a mixture of Pseudomonas putida 17S and the cultural filtrate as effective ingredients can be used as a composition for inhibiting rice sheath blight causing the degradation of rice and the decrease in crop yield.
