Disclosed is an apparatus and method for encoding/decoding a multi-channel signal. An apparatus for encoding a multi-channel signal allows to insert information on whether a phase parameter indicating phase information of a plurality of channels forming a multi-channel is encoded into a bitstream of the encoded multi-channel signal, and an apparatus for decoding the multi-channel signal allows to determines whether to up-mix a mono signal by using the phase parameter on the basis of information on whether the phase parameter is encoded.
