The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for processing a packet. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus includes: a first processor which executes packet polling by a first poll mode driver (PMD); and a second processor that executes the packet polling by a second PMD, which shares the same resource with the first PMD, includes the second PMD, and copes with processes operated in a user space. When a system is started, the first processor initiates a network interface card (NIC) by initiating the first PMD and allocates resource for the first PMD. The second processor executes the packet polling by the second PMD after initiation of the first PMD. According to the present invention, a method and an apparatus for processing a packet which are efficient and stable can be provided. |
