PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environmental test device having an explosion resistance improved by suppressing the breakdown of a tank body by an explosion of a battery.SOLUTION: The environmental test device 1 includes a tank body 2 that has a storage space 2a for storing a battery B as a sample and has a vent opening 2d for making the storage space 2a communicate with the outside; a pressure discharge vent 4 openably/closably attached to the vent opening 2d; a thermal runaway detection unit 18 for detecting the initial motion period of a thermal runaway of the battery B; a vent drive unit 13 for opening the pressure discharge vent 4; and a drive control unit 5 for controlling the vent drive unit 13 so that the pressure discharge vent 4 is opened when the thermal runaway detection unit 18 detects the initial motion period of the thermal runaway.
