PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a denitration catalyst for use in denitration treatment of the flue gas from a coal-fired boiler or the like, having a sufficient mechanical strength for retaining the catalyst shape, with more improved catalytic performance in comparison with a conventional denitration catalyst having zirconium oxide crystals, at a low manufacturing cost.SOLUTION: The denitration catalyst includes a honeycomb structured substrate of inorganic fiber sheet, on which titania, vanadium oxide and/or tungsten oxide, and a zirconium compound (excluding crystalline zirconium dioxide) as shape retaining binder are supported. The element proportion of the zirconium compound in the catalyst is preferably 1 to 20 wt.% in terms of oxide. The inorganic fiber sheet is preferably a glass fiber sheet or a ceramic fiber sheet. |
