PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide easy production in a large amount of a polyphenol derivative effective for metabolic syndrome prevention and therapy, such as blood glucose level elevation suppression, neutral fat reduction, blood pressure elevation suppression hyperlipemia improvement and cholesterol metabolism improvement, hepatic/renal function improvement, brain function improvement, and Alzheimer disease prevention and therapy.SOLUTION: A fungus body of filamentous fungus such as Aspergillus oryzae, a fungus body-treated product or a culture medium is made to act on catechin or a material comprising catechin. Thus obtained polyphenol derivative is effective for metabolic syndrome prevention and therapy such as blood glucose level elevation suppression, neutral fat reduction, blood pressure elevation suppression, hyperlipemia improvement and cholesterol metabolism improvement, hepatic/renal improvement, brain function improvement, and Alzheimer disease prevention and therapy. |
