The invention relates to a railway safety system comprising at least one key interlock for at least one field element and at least one interlocking system which is connected to the key interlock via a communications device. To avoid the need for mechanical keys, according to the invention the key interlock and the interlocking system have authentication means for mutual authentication such that only one valid virtual key requested by the key interlock and provided by the interlocking system via the communications device is accepted by the key interlock in order to release the field element for operation. |
