<p>Provided is a manufacturing method for alicyclic tetracarboxylic acids such as bicyclo [3.3.0) octane-2-exo-4-exo-6-endo-8-endo-tetracarboxylic acid of high purity and high producibility. The alicyclic tetracarboxylic acid manufacturing method is characterized in that a compound represented by formula [A] is added to an aqueous solution of an oxidizing inorganic nitrogen oxide, the formula [A] compound is oxidized, and a compound represented by formula [B] is produced.
