<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively separating and re-collecting tramp elements (e.g., Cu), which coexist in iron scrap and are difficult to be removed, from the iron scrap. <P>SOLUTION: The separation and re-collection method includes: bringing the obtained melt of the iron scrap into contact with molten Ag; migrating the element coexisting in the iron scrap (e.g., Cu) to the molten Ag; bringing Cu, which is migrated to the molten Ag, into contact with sulfide flux (molten Na<SB POS="POST">2</SB>S) to obtain the sulfide (Cu<SB POS="POST">2</SB>S); and removing it. The melt of the iron scrap is preferably saturated with carbon. Cu and Ag contained in the sulfide flux can be recovered as metals through oxidizing treatment, while sulfide flux and Ag can be re-circulated and reused. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
