Aspects of the present invention relate to a method and an apparatus for treating oil sands process water (OSPW). More particularly, aspects of the invention relate to a method of treating OSPW using a microorganism capable of metabolizing naphthenic acids (NAs). Aspects of the invention further provide a composition for preparation of microbial cultures, and a population of microorganisms for treating OSPW. |
