863,576. Magnetic recording machines. SUD - ATLAS - WERKE - G.m.b.H. April 15, 1957 [Nov. 3, 1956], No. 12182/57. Class 40 (2). A control system for a dictating machine wherein the Off, Record, Reproduce and Rewind conditions are all set by a single control. When the control 1 (Fig. 1) is turned to position A contacts 10 and 11 are opened and through relay 2 the drive motor is started. A pilot lamp 17 is simultaneously lit through switches 18 and 19 to indicate that the machine is running in the recording condition. When the control 1 is set to position W contacts 12 and 13 are opened and relay 3 operates to switch the machine to the reproducing condition. Contacts 14 and 15, which are in series with contacts 10 and 11, are also opened and the drive motor runs. This condition is indicated by the lamp 23 being lit as switch 18 moves to its alternative position. Further movement of the control 1 to position R closes contacts 15 and 16 and through relay 4 switches the machine to the re-winding condition. A 17 db. attenuator 26 is connected in parallel with the microphone 28 by a switch 25 operated by a handle which forms a stand for the microphone so that the attenuator is brought into circuit when the machine is used as a table set. |
