<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel sheet for a clutch plate which has excellent wear resistance of the tip of a friction plate and at the same time has good blanking properties, and to provide a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The steel sheet contains, by mass%, 0.1 to 0.6% C, 0 to 1.0% Si, 0.2 to 2.0% Mn, 0.1 to 0.3% or more Ti, and 0.005% or less N.
