<p>This character string detection device (1) detects character strings consisting of one or more characters from an image, and is characterized by being provided with: a clustering means (26) which, on the basis of color information possessed by each pixel making up the image, defines at least one cluster comprising at least a fixed number of pixel groups having similar colors; a clipping means (29) which partitions the image into a region of the pixel groups belonging to the aforementioned cluster defined by the clustering means (26) and a region of other pixel groups, and generates a clipped image from which the region of the aforementioned other pixel groups have been removed from the image; and a character string detection means (30) which, by detecting each character of the character string to be detected, detects the character string to be detected in the clipped image generated by the clipping means (29).</p> |
