Tibial implant for a unicompartmental knee prosthesis

The implant (20) has a body (21) comprising a lower face to be fixed directly or indirectly to medial or lateral portion of an upper end of tibia. The body has an upper face (22) articulated against a prosthetic or non-prosthetic condyle of a lower bottom end of a femur, and a peripheral edge (24) connecting the faces. The upper face has a convex surface surrounding an articular condyle bearing surface and connecting the bearing surface to the edge. Radius of curvature of the convex surface is larger in front and rear peripheral portions than in remaining portion of the convex surface. The lower face of the implant body is covered with a metal layer. An independent claim is also included for a unicompartmental knee prosthesis.
