Apparatus 100 and method for cooling a container of fluid, such as a pressurised keg of beer 102. The apparatus comprises an enclosure member 110 with a cooling element 120 for at least partly enclosing the container. The enclosure member is moveable between a first operative configuration, in which it substantially encloses the container, and a second inoperative configuration, in which it doesnt enclose the container. Preferably the enclosure member is hinged and pivotal on a mounting member 104 between the first and second configurations. The cooling element may comprise one or more cooling tubes 120 circulating a cooling fluid or refrigerant. Each tube may include an inlet (figure 6, 120a) and outlet (120b) interconnected by the tube return loops and joining piece (120c), all contained within semi-cylindrical portions 112 of the enclosure. The enclosure portions may be releasably secured together by spring fasteners 118 and also comprise thermally insulating material 122 and cooling fins 124. |
