<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device which improves heat radiation characteristics while improving dielectric voltage. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting device includes: a substrate; a conductive member provided on the first main surface side of the substrate as a mounting region; a light emitting element placed on the conductive member; an electrode formed on the first main surface side and used for applying a voltage to the light emitting element; and a wiring part connecting with the conductive member and the electrode and disposed on a side surface of the substrate.
