<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device capable of setting the MAC address simply without increasing the number of components or the maintenance man-hour. <P>SOLUTION: The communication device including a plurality of communication units stores respective routes in the device in association with individual MAC addresses. An address setting packet including a route identifier indicating the route in the device corresponding to one communication unit and a MAC address corresponding to the route in the device is generated, and delivered to one route in the device indicated by the route identifier.
