<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supporting structure for a steering column which further enhances strength and rigidity of a supporting member for supporting a steering column. <P>SOLUTION: A steering support bracket 22 includes a steering support lower 40 and a steering support upper 38. The steering support lower 40 is arranged below an instrument panel reinforcement 26, formed in a rectangular waveform with its top side opened in the cross-sectional shape and fixed to an outer peripheral surface of the instrument panel reinforcement 26. On the other hand, the steering support upper 38 forms a closed sectional surface together with the steering support lower 40 in an overlapped manner in a vehicle vertical direction on one end side in an extending direction of the steering support lower 40. In the steering support bracket 22, thereby, strength and rigidity can be enhanced more than a steering support brackets formed in the opened cross-section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
