<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool in which a supporting unit for rotatably supporting tools is rotatably mounted to a base so as to allow orientations of the tools to be changed, and which is small in the number of components. <P>SOLUTION: A B-axis rotating unit 52 rotatable around a perpendicular axis includes an inner motor 54 including a stator 54b directly connected to the B-axis rotating unit 52 and a rotor 54a connected to a plurality of B-axis rotary tools Tb through a gear mechanism 56. When rotating the B-axis rotating unit 52, the inner motor 54 is driven while the rotor 54a is fixed by means of a fixing mechanism 60 so as not to rotate.
