<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device that feeds developer that has formed a developer layer on a developing roller to an electrostatic latent image carrier on which an electrostatic latent image is formed, and thereby suppresses the occurrence of image failure such as streaks on an image to be formed in developing an electrostatic latent image to form an image, as well as an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A developing device applies potential difference between a developing roller 41 and a layer regulating member 12 that regulates the layer thickness of a developer layer formed on the developing roller 41 so as to suppress the occurrence of streaks due to deteriorated developer passing through the layer regulating member 12. The developing device changes potential difference to be applied in accordance with a deterioration state of developer and during a predetermined period initiated for image formation, and thereby suppresses the occurrence of white streaks caused by fusion of developer to the layer regulating member 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
