The present invention relates to a method for selecting an executable function in a mobile terminal. The method includes the steps of: receiving the grip information regarding the state of the mobile terminal grabbed by a user; determining whether the mobile terminal is in a function list display request state based on the received grip information; receiving swipe information when the mobile terminal is determined to be in the function list display request state; and displaying a function list and executing the function selected in the displayed function list based on the input swipe information.
