Provided are a device and a method for friction stir welding. According to the present invention, the device for friction stir welding comprises: first and second materials to be weld-arranged face to face dissimilar friction stir welding; a support plate having first and second support parts to respectively support the first and second materials; a welding tool arranged above the support plate, welding the first and second materials using frictional and stirring actions while rotating in a state of being in contact with the surface of the first and second materials; and a local temperature control part installed in the support plate, individually controlling the temperature of the first and second support parts to improve a quality of the welded portion friction stir welded by the welding tool. The present invention can highly improve the quality of the welded portion and a workability of the welding by individually controlling the temperature of a lower plate in the dissimilar friction stir welding of a magnesium alloy and an aluminum alloy. |
