摘要 The present invention relates to a bi-directional direct current interruption device to block the fault current flowing through a direct current (DC) line at occurrence of a failure at one side of the DC line power transmission or a power distribution line. The bi-directional direct current interruption device according to the invention includes: a main switch provided in the DC line and opened in case of failure on one side or the other side of the DC line to cut off the current of the DC line; an L/C circuit connected to the main switch in parallel including a capacitor and a reactor connected to each other in series; a charge switching device connected to the L/C circuit in series and switching to supply a charging current to charge the capacitor; first and second switching elements forming a first closed circuit between the L/C circuit and the main switch and switching the current flow in the first direction; and third and fourth switching elements forming a second closed circuit between the L/C circuit and the main switch and switching the current flow in the second direction. When opening the main switch, extinguishing an arc generated in the main switch is done by supplying an electric current by a voltage charged in the capacitor to the main switch in the first direction or the second direction.
