Computer-based method for real-time three-dimensional geological model calculation and reservoir navigation

A method of calculating a 3-D geologic model in real time using, as input, 2-D geologic data. The 3-D is used for conducting further drilling operations. The model may be updated in real time using additional measurements obtained during drilling operations.

1. A method of conducting drilling operations, the method comprising:
obtaining a plurality of measurements indicative of at least one property of an earth formation in a 2-D model comprising a plurality of layers; processing the plurality of measurements in the 2-D model to display a 3-D model of the earth formation; displaying the 3-D model of the earth formation comprising at least one azimuth of each layer; and conducting drilling operations with a bottom hole assembly (BHA) using the 3-D model.
