The present invention relates to a novel mannanase separated from uncultured microorganisms living in the guts of larva like Ptecticus tenebrifer and uses of genes coding the same. Mannanase can be decomposed in an efficient manner by using mannanase EM6 according to the present invention. In the present invention, provided is a gene coding β-1,4-galactomannanase whose seqeunce is number 1. Also, provided is a vector including the gene.
