The present invention relates to a method for preparing colorful sweet potato chips. The present invention uses colorful sweet potatoes as raw materials to prepare sweet potato chips preserving the natural colors of the colorful sweet potatoes. The method also does not include a grease addition process and a frying treatment process to reduce the fat content of the sweet potato chips and the intake of fat. The sweet potato chips are backed in a far-infrared oven to have a crispy texture and are lightly boiled in a sugar solution to be suitably sweetened.
