PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide antibodies that specifically bind to the &eegr; isoform of the human 14-3-3 protein in its natural configuration and are capable of discriminating between the &eegr; isoform and other 14-3-3 protein isoforms.SOLUTION: The invention provides anti-14-3-3&eegr; antibodies that can specifically bind to the human 14-3-3&eegr; protein while exhibiting selectivity for the human 14-3-3&eegr; protein over other human 14-3-3 protein isoforms. Further provided are kits and pharmaceutical compositions comprising the specific anti-14-3-3&eegr; antibodies for the diagnosis and treatment of arthritis, and methods of administering the kits and the pharmaceutical compositions. |
