<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casting unit for a die casting machine, which can eliminate problems with a conventional sliding piston type casting unit.SOLUTION: In a casting unit, a casting chamber main body 1 has a casting chamber 2 that comprises a casting material inlet 8 and a casting material outlet 3 and can be filled with a casting material, and a casting piston 4 can be moved forward in a longitudinal direction of the casting piston in order to exhaust the casting material from the casting chamber through the casting material outlet by compressing the casting material and also can be moved rearward so that the casting material is supplied into the casting chamber through the casting material inlet by the rearward movement. The casting piston 4 extends from the outside into the casting chamber 2 through a penetration-guide opening 5. Between a jacket surface 4b of the casting piston moved forward into the casting chamber and an inner wall surface 1c of the casting chamber main body that opposes to the jacket surface in a direction lateral to the longitudinal direction of the casting piston is formed a free space area 6 because an outer cross section d of the casting piston is adequately smaller than an inner cross section D of the casting chamber main body.</p> |
