Class 40(3) The heating of high frequency induction of a blank or mass of rubber or other elastomeric or plastic substance is controlled or terminated by the output from a photo-conductive cell, e.g. an iridium antimonide cell, responsive to radiation from the heated substance which is directed on to the cell through a suitable screen or filter. The invention is applied to heating a rubber solo blank prior to transfer to a vulcanizing press, the induction heater being switched off when the temperature reaches 150‹ C.</p> |
