The present invention relates to an apparatus for warning a mileage drop in a vehicle and a method thereof, by which, after predicting a mileage drop degree according to the degree of opening a window of a driver seat of the vehicle as being driven, a window of a passenger seat thereof, and a window of a back seat thereof, if the mileage drop degree exceeds a predetermined limit, the mileage drop is displayed on a cluster and a warning is generated, thereby preventing the mileage drop by opening the windows. The apparatus for warning the mileage drop in the vehicle comprises: a driving sensor for sensing a drive of the vehicle; a window position sensor for sensing the degree of opening each window in the vehicle; a controller for activating a mileage drop predicting part if the window position sensor senses the opening of the window of the vehicle, in the state of sensing the drive of the vehicle through the driving sensor; the mileage drop predicting part for predicting a mileage drop degree according to the degree of opening each window, sensed by the window position sensor; a warn determining part for generating a warn signal, as the sum of each mileage drop degree predicted by the mileage drop predicting part exceeds a threshold; and a warning part for warning a driver according to a warn signal from the warn determining part. |
