Provided is a squaring device which makes it possible to appropriately square regardless of stack number. This squaring device is provided with a squaring plate (60P) which: squares a cardboard box stacked on a stacking part in coordination with a front stop (28), when the stacking part stays in a stacking position for only a staying interval corresponding to the conveyance speed of a cardboard box (10) and the set number of cardboard box stacks (50); and is installed in a counter ejector for using a front stop (28) to stop a sheet-shaped cardboard box (01) conveyed from upstream in a downstream section of a box-making machine, receiving the same in the stacking part inside a hopper section (100), and then stacking and discharging the same as a batch. The squaring device is further provided with a reciprocal drive device for reciprocally driving the squaring plate (60P) toward and away from the front stop (28). Therein, the reciprocal drive device is configured in a manner such that the speed ratio of the squaring speed for reciprocally driving the squaring plate (60P) to the conveyance speed is adjustable.
