In accordance with the present invention, by using a resin composition including lignin and a curing agent in which the lignin is soluble in an organic solvent and contained in the resin composition in an amount of from 10 to 90% by mass, there are provided a molded product and a composite molded product which are obtained from plant resources as a main raw material and to which a good flame retardance and a good antibacterial property are imparted.

A resin composition comprising lignin and a curing agent, 1 g of the lignin being soluble at 25° C. in 10 mL of at least one organic solvent selected from the group consisting of acetone, cyclohexanone and tetrahydrofuran, and 1 g of the lignin also being soluble at from 50° to 70° C. in 10 mL of at least one organic solvent selected from the group consisting of methanol, ethanol and methyl ethyl ketone, the lignin being contained in the resin composition in an amount of from 10 to 90% by mass,
wherein the lignin has a weight-average molecular weight of from 1800 to 5000, wherein a content of a sulfur atom in the lignin is 0.5% by mass or less, and wherein the lignin is obtained by treating a plant raw material by a method utilizing a separation technique using water.
