This driving-support-image generation device is provided with a character recognition unit and an image processing unit. The character recognition unit recognizes text in an image that represents the posting content of a posted object posted on or near a road. On the basis of the text recognized by the character recognition unit and driving-support information associated with said text, the image processing unit generates a driving-support image by changing the image of the posted object into an image corresponding to the aforementioned driving-support information.
