Disclosed is a method and apparatus for correcting an error of a geomagnetic sensor. Provided is the method and apparatus for correcting an error of the geomagnetic sensor that determines whether a distortion (error) is generated due to an artificial magnetic field generated by neighboring structures and corrects the generated distortion (error) when an initial moving direction is determined for a pedestrian dead reckoning (PDR). Moreover, a stable and accurate navigation service can be supplied both indoors and outdoors using corrected direction information.
